Postium Korea OBM-U18IP Overview
 
The OBM-U18IP 18.4" HDR UHD 4K LCD Monitor from Postium Korea is a true UHD broadcast and media monitor that offers two 12G-SDI inputs and two 12G-SDI outputs, an HDMI 2.0 input, two SPF28 module inputs, and an RJ45 network input. Boasting a native resolution of 3840 x 2160, the monitor is equipped with an 18.4" screen with a 16:9 aspect ratio and 170° field of view. It supports 3D LUT file imports and HDR Hybrid Log Gamma, as well as integrated image monitoring functions like vectorscope and waveform. The monitor can be configured and controlled via Web UI, and it comes with a power cable for quick and convenient setup in a studio or on location.
Display Functions
The wide color space support includes DCI-P3 and ITU-R BT.2020 and is augmented with an advanced 3D LUT to reproduce various color spaces accurately with smooth, artifact-free grayscale steps. Available color gamuts include DCI-P3, ITU-R BT.2020, ITU-R BT.709, SMPTE-C, EBU, and Native.
Versatile 4K/QFHD Input Capability
The monitor is equipped with two standard 12G-SDI inputs with support for 4K/8K quad-link two-sample interleave signals and 4K quad-link square division signals. It can accept up to 7680 x 4320 at 23.98/24/25/29.97/30/50/59.94/60p and 8192 x 4320 at 23.98/24/25/29.97/30/50/59.94/60p.
Custom 3D LUT File Import
The monitor allows the user to import 3D LUTs for accurate and consistent color matching between individual displays, as well as use customized looks created by third-party color-grading applications.
Camera Log Selection
The monitor boasts built-in camera LUTs from various camera manufacturers. It allows users to load the following camera logs: Log-C, C-Log, S-Log2, S-Log3, and J-Log1, with more camera LUT updates planned for the near future.
High Dynamic Range (HDR) Display Function
The monitor provides the function to display High Dynamic Range (HDR) footage, allowing users to view both highlights and shadow detail of scenes at the same time, resulting in more natural and realistic images.
Focus Assist Functions
Focus Assist functions allow users to control the aperture level of a video signal and display images on screen with sharpened edges to help with camera focus operation.
4K HDR Waveform Monitor & Vector Scope Display
Internal waveform and vectorscope displays are available for use individually or simultaneously.
Adjustable Gamma Control
Adjustable Gamma Control allows for incremental compensation between gamma correction values of 1.0 and 3.0, ensuring that the decoded image isn't too bright or too dark.
4K/QFHD Mode
The LCD panel's native resolution is QFHD 3840 x 2160 at a 16:9 aspect ratio, so if the input signal is UHD 4K (3840 x 2160), then 1:1 mapping is supported. If the input signal is DCI 4K (4096 x 2160), then 1:1 mapping is not supported. When the 4096 x 2160 signal is sent through, if you select Zero Scan from the front panel Scan button, the picture is scaled to be displayed on the panel in a 3840 x 2025 resolution, maintaining a 1.89:1 aspect ratio.
