Postium Korea OBM-W180 Overview
Monitor your 4K studio or field production with the OBM-W180 18.5" HDR 4K LCD Monitor with 12G-SDI from Postium Korea. With full input support for signals up to 8K60, the OBM-W180 offers 1920 x 1080 display resolution and a 178° viewing angle, with a brightness of 350 cd/m² and a 1000:1 contrast ratio. It features two 12G-SDI inputs, which can handle resolutions up to 4K60, and two 12G-SDI outputs. An HDMI 2.0 input and one SFP optical input provide additional options for bringing in video with embedded audio, and a 3.5mm line input offers analog stereo connectivity. A 3.5mm analog stereo output allows you to monitor sound via optional headphones. There are also component and composite inputs for analog video. The monitor comes with its own power cord.
- 4K Quad-Link 2-Sample Interleave and Square Division Signals
The OBM-W180 supports 4K Quad-Link 2-Sample Interleave and 4K Quad-Link Square Division signals. Closed captioning decode and display for CEA-708 (HD-SDI closed captioning standard) and CEA-608 (SD-SDI closed captioning standard) are supported via the SDI input. The monitor offers professional performance and features, including high-quality black level reproduction and accurate calibrated colorimetry, as well as integrated 3D LUTs, waveform, vectorscope, and a full broadcast feature set.
- High Dynamic Range Display Function
You can display HDR footage with the option to view both highlights and shadow details of your scene at the same time, thus resulting in more natural and realistic images. It supports PQ EOTF (SMPTE ST 2084), Hybrid Log Gamma, S-Log3, and HDR and SDR (standard dynamic range) images may be simultaneously displayed.
- Features at a Glance
Color Space Dynamic Range Comparison
Color Space Dynamic Range Comparison (Side by Side, Wipe position) allows you to compare different color spaces, gammas, HDR/SDR, camera logs, and other color settings side by side simultaneously. The comparison area can be selected and moved with a vertical wipe pattern.
Focus Assist and False Color
Focus Assist controls the aperture level of a video signal and displays images on screen with sharpened edges to help camera focus operation.
False Color indicates the luma (Y) level of the input image. If a certain Y level is set, the pixels with the designated Y level are displayed with a zebra pattern or a color pattern. There are multiple display modes: Zebra, Variable, ARRI, and Comparison.
Gamut Error Type
Gamut Error Type can be observed in 3 modes.
- In Type 1, when the targeted color space is selected as BT.709, the pixels outside of the targeted color space are displayed as Black Zebra. The pixels over Y Maximum, Chroma Maximum, RGB Maximum are displayed as Black Zebra, and the pixels below Y Minimum, Chroma Minimum, RGB Minimum are also displayed as Black Zebra.
- In Type 2, when the targeted color space is selected as BT.709, the pixels outside of the targeted color space are displayed as Black or White Zebra. The pixels over Y Maximum, Chroma Maximum, RGB Maximum are displayed as Black Zebra, and the pixels below Y Minimum, Chroma Minimum, RGB Minimum are displayed as White Zebra.
- In Type 3: Mono, when the targeted color space is selected as BT.709, the pixels inside of the targeted color space are displayed as Mono, and the pixels outside of the targeted color space are displayed as the color. In this type, black and white area is not recognized.
HDR Waveform Monitor and Vectorscope Display
HDR Waveform Monitor and Vector Scope Display modes enable users to monitor sources using the internal Waveform and Vector Scope individually or simultaneously. The position of Waveform and Vector Scope can be moved between Top Left, Top Right, Bottom Right, and Bottom Left.
Adjustable Gamma
Adjustable Gamma control allows for incremental compensation between gamma correction values of 1.0 and 3.0—thereby ensuring that the decoded image isn't too bright (no gamma correction) or too dark (overcorrection).
In-Monitor Display
In-Monitor Display (IMD) allows image source names and tally information to be displayed on the screen with an external remote function via Ethernet. TSL system protocol is supported. The color of the source name and tally color is selectable among white, red, green, blue, yellow, cyan, and magenta.
Frame Markers and Mattes
Various frame markers and mattes are available, including aspect, area, and center markers. In addition, the detailed display settings of each marker are allowed. For example, the color, brightness, horizontal/vertical position, and thickness of aspect markers can all be adjusted.
Fast Mode Function
Fast Mode Function is designed to minimize interlaced video processing time delay. This mode is also useful when displaying fast motion interlaced video content and to reduce the delay between video and audio.
Input Signal Format Support
- Single Link 4K/12G-SDI
- Dual Link 2-Sample Interleave (2SI) up to 2160/30p.
- Quad Link 2 Sample Interleave (2SI) uses four quarter resolution full-frame sub-images and alternates the samples every two pixels and every line rather than splitting the image into four quadrants.
- Quad Link Square Division. Each link contains one quarter square of the original image.
- 12G-SDI over IP supports SMPTE ST 2022-6 input up to 12G-SDI Single Link over IP through an optional integrated SFP interface.
